Tips for voice recordings
- Recorded far from the mic? The voice can sound thin after cleaning. Try Voice warmth → Light or Medium.
- Several people talking? All voices are kept; only the noise around them is removed.
- Long podcast? It works on hours of audio on a computer. On a phone, files over 30 minutes get a memory warning.
Questions
Can I clean an iPhone voice memo?
Yes. Voice memos are M4A files; drop one in and you get back an M4A with the noise removed.
Does it remove echo or reverb?
No. It removes background noise such as hiss, hum, fans and traffic. A voice recorded in an echoey room keeps its echo.
Why is the clean sound mono?
The noise model works on one channel. The cleaned voice is put on both channels, so it plays normally everywhere. For speech this sounds the same; stereo effects in the original are not kept.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The noise removal runs inside your browser on your own device. The file is never sent to a server.
